Japanese Students at TUDelft

9/25/2016

On Monday 12th of September, around 15 Japanese students, bachelor and master, one professor and one PhD student from the Ritsumeikan University visited the Netherlands and the TU Delft. To be more explicit, they visited the Civil Engineering faculty. We had an interesting afternoon with a tour through the faculty, the WaterLab and the DiTTLab. Afterwards, we gave a presentation about the Netherlands, the TU Delft and our study. We even let them taste ‘Drop’, which some of them liked very much and others didn’t at all. They also gave a presentation, especially on what the differences are between Japan, France and the Netherlands in traffic and transport related matters. We also had some students interested in water management and for those Mark Bakker told us about his research in an interesting presentation. After this, we were all quite thirsty and had some drinks and chatted with each other. For some of the Japanese it was the first time that they drank alcohol on campus. Overall ‘Japanese meet the Dutch’ was a really interesting and nice afternoon!
