Board 2020 - II

Picture
Be transported to the top!

As the board of Dispuut Verkeer, you get to oversee everything that happens within the Dispuut, and all the things surrounding it, such as company-partnerships and the Transport and Planning department.
Depending on your position, you get to learn a wide variety of skills. As chairman, you’ll learn to manage the day to day dealings, and you keep a close contact with the department. You get a behind-the-scenes view of how master-programs are managed by the TU Delft.  As treasurer, you learn how to manage the finances, and budgeting for an organization. Plus: you’re involved with all committees! As our education commissioners, TIL & TP, you are responsible for the crucial communication between the students and the professors. As such, you get to learn how our curriculums are built up, and how to evaluate them. On top of that, you develop a close relation with the professors, which might help you in your graduation and your career.
Being on the board also allows you to develop your own ideas and policies. Want something done differently? You can do it! But the most important reason why joining the board is awesome, is the people. As the board, you are involved in all activities, and as a result, you get to know all the different kinds of members that our Dispuut has! Sounds good? Let us know

European Business Tour

First things first, the European Tour is organised yearly by Dispuut Verkeer during the break after the second quarter of the academic year. Each year the committee gets to choose a city within Europe that they think would be the best destination for the tour of that year. During the tour a group of around 25 DV members will explore this European city by visiting interesting companies, as well as discovering the sights and possibly the local night life. As the EBT committee, you will be able to choose an awesome city that the members of DV will be able to enjoy, and organise a tour that they will never forget! During the meetings and work sessions the committee forms a tight bond and become great friends. After the tour they have achieved something for themselves and their fellow students that they can be proud of. Being member of the EBT committee takes around 2 hours a week in the first quarter, and 4 to 6 hours a week in the second quarter, as the tour gets closer. Joining the EBT committee will allow you to make great friends with your fellow committee members, get to know other students and learn to organise a large-scale event, as well as providing you with an awesome holiday.

Study Tour

Are you looking for an interesting and exciting committee to do this year, look no further! The Study Tour committee organizes the yearly international trip abroad. This takes place during the summer holiday and you as the committee are responsible for organizing it. This means you also have the privilege of deciding where to go. Last year we decided to go to Colombia and California, which were both very fun and different locations to visit. You start your committee in November at which moment you divide the tasks among each other. Together with your committee members you will have a great time working together and planning the trip. Furthermore, after a long day you can have some drinks with each other and eventually make some great friends!

Fly-Over

Picture
The Fly-Over committee is also looking for new members from the next academic year. As you are reading this edition of the Fly-Over, you obviously know what the Fly-Over is. But let us show you some of the processes that go into producing this magazine. Meetings with the committee are most often scheduled at the beginning and end of the process. After this, we contact potential writers for the next edition, which differ from students, alumni, to professors and working professionals. We try to keep the subjects of the articles related to transport as we are catering to the transport enthusiasts like you. Of course, you as a member are also free write pieces in the Fly-Over or suggest ideas for new designs and themes. With joining the Fly-Over committee, same for the other committees, you will get to know easier people from DV and get into contact with the writers of the articles, which could be very valuable in the future. In the end, four magazines will be published and you surely will be proud of the editions that were created by you and your team.
